Just 24h to strip a 195 m cruise-ship
Successful desmantling-project and transferring of all the equipment of the ”Silver Spirit” cruise ship took place on 2 and 3 March at the port of Souda in Chania. The excellent cooperation between SIAKANDARI BROS LTD-VA.STE.ECO EVOLUTION and the local recycling company ECOPLAN CRETE has resulted in taking only two days for the 3,000 cubic meters of rubbish and ship-equipment to be dismantled with absolute security, supervision, uninterrupted and responsible work .
The business started on Friday afternoon 2 March and was completed on Saturday 3 March. In addition, it is estimated that in a month or so, all the equipment donated by Silversea Cruises, owned by the Silver Spirit, which is flagged by the Bahamas, is 195 meters long, with a capacity of 608 passengers and 412 crew members.
It is worth mentioning that in the structures of the Municipality of Chania, 4,652 items will be given in excellent condition, such as sofas, chairs, armchairs, curtains, computers, offices, household items, etc., and the rubbish will be recycled to the maximum extent possible.
